We're an all volunteer association
We're completely volunteer lead and run. Our community organization does not receive any funding from the City. We rely on you and all our neighbors to donate energy, time, or funds to support our work.
Do you live in Alger Heights?
If you live in our boundaries, you live in Alger Heights. We are bordered by Burton Street to the north, Kalamazoo Avenue and Oakfield Avenue to the east, 28th Street to the south, and Eastern Avenue to the west.
THE 311 ON ALGER HEIGHTS
Use My Neighborhood Tool to find events, parks, libraries, and schools near you. Find out who your commissioners and mayor are. Lookup the next date your trash and recycling will be picked up. You can use this to report issues in the neighborhood too.
We depend on you!
How do other neighborhood associations do it? Many neighborhood associations in the city receive Federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Funding. The City administers these funds to qualifying neighborhoods. Alger Heights is not within the Target Areas.
With funding comes requirements. Though we do not receive this funding, it also means we make our own decisions as neighbors. We listen and work with our neighbors to determine our priorities and programs.
